Mount Vision Pastels are bigger than your everage kind, sitting solidly in the palm of your hand as you weigh them. They are a delight to work with, building layers a breeze.
In fact they seem to behave better with more layers, unlike any other brand I know. It's fascinating to watch it blend when creating a variety of skin tones. I am a portrait artist and love painting with them. |

"I am very pleased and excited to be able to purchase Mount Vision Pastels here in Australia. These are pastels I wouldn't do without.
I was first introduced to them about three years ago, and have been using them ever since. They are soft but not too soft, allowing a good build up of several layers; also, they are much larger than most brands of pastels and I find I can cover a large area fairly quickly, particularly when I use them on their sides. The colour range is extensive, and the pure colours have an intensity which is rich and vivid.
I earnestly recommend these pastels to all those folk who have a love for this wonderful medium."

As a pastel artist I am always excited to see a painting take form. From the bare bones of light & shade to a finished product.

The colors are both vibrant & subtle & lend themselves to beautiful layering without getting "muddy"
Although they have a lovely , soft , buttery texture they do not crumble easely & are great to handle.

Some brands are better at a particular application than others, some are better at covering a large area, then of course you often have to paint in the finest of lines, or drop in the brightest highlight.
For all of these applications you need that very special pastel even that hard Conte has its place in the best of paintings.
I was amazed by the numerous task you could perform with this pastel .So soft & silky but strong and solid in your hand you can layer colors and still the brightness shines through.
With over 350 colors in the range (and still growing) you will most certainly find that illusive color we always seem to be looking for!
The pastel is much larger than most with superior quality.
Mount Vision Pastels are a must in my pastel kit, I can highly recommend them to all pastel artists
